The Horse Management and Animal Science students conduct an annual sale as part of their programs. Students in the training portion are assigned a horse and, under the supervision of their instructor Paula Hitzler, condition and train the horse, then present it in the sale. The students always name this as one of the most educational programs they participate in while attending Michigan State University. A second group of students work under the supervision of Dr. John Shelle preparing all the advertising, and organization of the actual sales event. Horses sold are usually started under saddle, and may be mares or geldings. Some horses become family horses, or broodmares, while others go on to successful show careers at all levels from 4-H to Nationals.

MSU is excited to offer for sale the following show horses:

MSU Salignac- 2005 Ch Mare. If you are looking for a future broodmare and a lovely western pleasure horse this is your mare. Salignac is out of the best female line at MSU and by the Cognac son B Mumm Cognac. Salignac is very correct in her conformation and a beautiful mover. She would excel in the Sport horse in hand classes.

MSU Simply Magic- 2005 Ch Mare. This pretty mare by National Top Ten Halter Stallion Magic VF will be an exceptional western pleasure mare. With her pretty had and beautifully shaped neck, this mare will be gorgeous in the bridle.

MSU Starlet- 2005 Ch Mare. Starlet will be a star for the youth or amateur rider who would like to finish her under saddle. With her great temperament Starlet will make a wonderfully versatile horse for any rider.

MSU Charity- 2005 Ch Mare. Charity who is by Magic VF and out of one on MSU’s best western pleasure mares will surely live up to her performance pedigree. Charity is a pretty mover with a great jog and lope. With her gentle disposition she will make a nice youth or amateur horse.

MSU Audacious- 2005 Bay Mare. Audacious is by National Top Ten Halter Stallion Afire Bey Flame and out of an *El Paso bred mare. Audacious is a fancy western prospect. She is beautiful in the bridle and naturally round and soft at the lope.

MSU Secret Flame- 2005 Grey Mare. Secret Flame is by Afire Bey Flame and out of a Concensus daughter. Secret Flame is a typy mare that will make a lovely western or hunter pleasure prospect. She is going well under saddle and will be ready to enter the ring this spring.

CF The Benefactor- 2004 Bay Geld. Benny is the perfect youth or amateur horse western pleasure show horse. He has a friendly disposition and very easy to work around. Great family horse.

MSU Sychedelic- 2005 Grey Geld. Sired by Hucks Legacy, Sychedelic stands 16.2 hands and will surely get you noticed in the show ring. This is a huge moving high quality hunter prospect. Sychedelic has a great work ethic and a wonderful disposition.

MSU Start-n-Afire- 2005 Grey Geld. This is a very sweet gelding that would be great for the amateur rider that would like to finish the training on a young horse. This gelding would make nice sport/dressage prospect.

MSU Absolute-2005 Grey Geld. If you’re looking for a gelding that will win in the show ring this is the one. Absolute is a beautiful mover that will be a high quality western pleasure show horse. With his wonderful disposition Absolute will make a nice youth or amateur horse.

MSU Vendetta- 2005 Grey Geld. Vendetta is the type of gelding you would enter in the National Arabian Futurity Hunter class. This 16 hand gelding is not only flashy but is a big round mover with a great disposition. He will make a great show horse for the amateur or open rider.

MSU Bandera-2005 Bay Geld. This is a very flashy gelding. Bandera is beautiful in the bridle and shows a lot of potential as a hunter. Bandera is started under saddle and shows a lot of promise but should be bought by the experienced horse person who enjoys working with a sensitive horse.

MSU Veritas- 2006 Grey Geld. Veritas is a very correct made gelding who could halter or win in the sport horse in hand division. This is a gelding with tons of potential under saddle. His powerful movement might lend itself to being a great dressage prospect.

MSU Star Stuck- 2006 Ch Geld. Star Struck will be a really fun gelding to start under saddle. Star Struck is a pretty mover and should make a nice hunter or dressage horse.

MSU Made Ya Look- 2006 Bay Geld. This tall two year old has endless potential as a performance horse. With his pretty way of going he should make a very competitive western pleasure show horse. With his correct conformation should be a very competitive sport horse in hand horse.

MSU Arcomedies AM- 2007 Grey Geld. This yearling is the only Al-Marah bred horse we will sell this year. Sired by National Champion Bremervale Andronicus, Arcomedies will surely follow in his sires hoof prints.

MSU Counterfeit- 2003 gelding by Hucks Legacy and our of a Pask daughter. This is a superstar hunter horse having won almost every Junior Horse Championship he was shown in this past year. Counterfeit is a beautiful mover with amazing power off his hocks. He will be an outstanding candidate for sport horse in hand and under saddle divisions as well as dressage. This horse has endless potential. Counterfeit has an outstanding temperament and is suitable for the amateur or youth.
